It's been a while since I have posted. Real life happens and all of that! Anyway, I wanted to make sure I posted for a few of the more memorable fics that I have enjoyed these past few weeks!

Author:[livejournal.com profile] grissom_tm
Fandom: CSI: Las Vegas
Community: [livejournal.com profile] writers_muses
Prompt: Photo Prompt
Link: http://grissom-tm.livejournal.com/56594.html
Notes: Dr. Gil Grissom never fails to disappoint. I am going to add my voice to the chorus of how this post is one of his best. It is so very Grissom and it shows the details of Grissom's very unique thought processes and how he relates to a crime scene, his team and time. Just wonderfully presented!

Author: [livejournal.com profile] civ_barbarian
Fandom: Highlander / Original Character
Community: [livejournal.com profile] writers_muses
Prompt: 50.1.D - "A Traitor's Hope"
Link:http://civ-barbarian.livejournal.com/138174.html
Notes: I have watched the character of Hsu Danmei over the years and all of the events in his life. Hsu learns from his Watcher that his son, once believed to be dead, is alive. Very well written. This mun and muse consistently gives us intense details and they are always true to the Muse's own distinctive voice. I admire that greatly.

Author: [livejournal.com profile] her_pirate, Sir Walter Raliegh
Fandom: Historical / RPF
Community: [livejournal.com profile] muses_unleashed
Prompt: 3.4.D - Innocence
Link: http://her-pirate.livejournal.com/2143.html
Notes: I am a huge fan of historical fiction, particularly 16th Century Elizabethan fiction! The voice of this muse is so close to the times that it makes it a complete joy to read. I know of very few writers that have the courage to tackle such a complex muse with such a strong sense of the Muse's own temperament.

Author: [livejournal.com profile] ambitious_woman, Madame de Pompadour
Fandom: Historical / RPF
Community: [livejournal.com profile] theatrical_muse
Prompt: Bearer of Bad News
Link: http://ambitious-woman.livejournal.com/86691.html
Notes: I told you that I am partial to historical characters and fiction and this one is absolutely no exception! Reinette is such a well researched, beautifully crafted muse, the beauty of her imagery and the carefully woven tapestry that makes up this muse is ever-so clear here! Reinette has a beautiful mind, in spite of her challenges in life she never fails to be an enchanting Mistress to Louis XV. Here it is very easy to see why she was so successful.

Author: [livejournal.com profile] a_roman_w_power
Fandom: Highlander / Original Character
Community: [livejournal.com profile] true_writers
Prompt: 10.D.7 - Mirror, Mirror
Link: http://a-roman-w-power.livejournal.com/22972.html
Notes: Marius has a very distinctive voice. When I started out reading this muse I was never sure if I liked him or not. Certainly he is not a muse you would ever want to turn your back on. Here we get a great glimpse of what life was like in the Juli household when Marius was a young man. The more I read it, the more I really do like it!

Author: [livejournal.com profile] _call_me_snake_
Fandom: Escape from New York / Escape from L.A.
Community: [livejournal.com profile] true_writers
Prompt Dr. Strangelove Quote
Link: http://users.livejournal.com/_call_me_snake_/540452.html
Notes: You can feel Snake's anger just jump off the page at you! Snake is an incredibly consistent muse and he and his mun remain true to the spirit of the movies. Snake is in your face and constantly unafraid, at least here you get no sense of fear at all from him!

Author: [livejournal.com profile] rude_not_ginger, Dr. Who (Ten)
Fandom: Doctor Who
Community: [livejournal.com profile] writers_muses
Prompt Deal with the Devil
Link: http://community.livejournal.com/writers_muses/290726.html
Notes: I love, love, LOVE the dialogue on this piece! I found myself break into a smile and a giggle or two. Definitely worth taking a look at!

Author: [livejournal.com profile] blazing_storm
Fandom: Fantastic Four
Community: [livejournal.com profile] writers_muses
Prompt 49.3.1 - The Islander
Link: http://community.livejournal.com/writers_muses/281147.html
Notes: I am not a big fan of comic books or movie spin offs of comic books but i have to say that Johnny Storm made it enjoyable to read. There is something so intensely poignant about a very evocative song and meeting someone from your past. This post is really well written and the dialogue is crisp and has a very natural flow. I have a whole new appreciation for this muse and their offerings.

Author: [livejournal.com profile] ambitious_woman
Fandom: Dr. Who / RPF
Community: [livejournal.com profile] theatrical_muse
Prompt: Everything Passes
Link: http://ambitious-woman.livejournal.com/73897.html
Notes: Reinette has a beautiful descriptive style unlike anyone else's. Her imagery is crisp and evocative and this one is quite beautiful in discussing Reinette's inner thoughts and feelings about the Doctor and herself.

Author: [livejournal.com profile] dr_luka_kovac
Fandom: E.R.
Community: [livejournal.com profile] writers_muses
Prompt: 37.4 - Motivations
Link: http://community.livejournal.com/writers_muses/201017.html
Notes: Dr. Luka Kovac is often a tragic figure, and this post shows in stark detail how a trigger issues from a past event can invade upon the present and cast aside all that a person believes in. It is very powerfully presented.

Author:[livejournal.com profile] zee_ali - Ziyah
Fandom: Higlander
Community: [livejournal.com profile] writers_muses
Prompt: Face Down
Link: http://zee-ali.livejournal.com/4622.html
Notes: NC-17 - NSFW (languange/ violence/sex) As I mentioned in my commentary on the post, it takes a special writer with a skilled hand to write violence well. There is always too much of a temptation to either go overboard or not give enough detail. In spite of the fact that the muse's death is described in horrific and vivid imagery, it is masterfully done. I highly recommend as a fabulous example of what to do right!

Author: [livejournal.com profile] all_forme
Fandom: Three Musketeers / Lost Boys / Highlander (crossover)
Community: [livejournal.com profile] writers_muses
Prompt: 38.8.1 - "I am not completely without Mercy"
Link: http://all-forme.livejournal.com/19471.html
Notes: R - rated This is part of an ongoing project that many muns and muses are working on. I think that the post is tied beautifully and done in the descriptive and yet incredibly brutal style that is Captain Rochefort's alone. Besides my partiality, it is a great piece of writing that deals with sensitive issues of war and it's escalation.

Author: [livejournal.com profile] fryoutthefairy
Fandom: Velvet Goldmine
Community: [livejournal.com profile] the_bigshow
Prompt: Mouth to Mouth
Link: http://fryoutthefairy.livejournal.com/4749.html
Notes: R Leans a little toward NSFW - Curt Wild wakes up being given mouth to mouth by a complete stranger and what ensues is very interesting indeed. I love much of what this particular muse writes. It is so very in canon. I have found very few writers that write what I would consider to be decent slash. This is one of those authors that treats of m/m relationships sensually and sensitively without being too voyeuristic.

Author: [livejournal.com profile] paranoianblood
Fandom: Moonilight
Community: [livejournal.com profile] the_bigshow
Prompt: Naked Woman
Link: http://paranoiainblood.livejournal.com/25044.html
Notes: What does a vampire do when he comes home to a naked woman on his desk? A very humorous post!
